ASP.NET AJAX integrates client script libraries with the ASP.NET 2.0 server-based development framework. This new Web development technology extends ASP.NET, offering the interactive user interface benefits of AJAX with a programming model that is more familiar to ASP.NET developers, making it very easy to add AJAX to your applications quickly and with minimal effort. However, ASP.NET AJAX isn’t just for ASP.NET development. You can take advantage of the rich client framework to easily build client-centric Web applications that integrate with any backend data provider.

  1. Make sure you are logged in with an account that has Administrator privileges.
  2. If your account does not have Administrator privileges, the installation process displays the error "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."
  3. Uninstall any previous versions of ASP.NET AJAX. If the installation process finds a previous version on your computer, it will stop.
  4. You can remove earlier versions with the Add/Remove Programs application in Control Panel.
  5. Download the ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi installation package from the ASP.NET AJAX Downloads Web site. 6.To install ASP.NET AJAX from the Windows interface, double-click ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi in Windows Explorer. The default installation path is drive:..Program FilesMicrosoft ASP.NETASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensionsv1.0.nnnn.
